App created to raise awareness of the threat of solar flare activity on Earth's power grid

    NEW YORK, March 16, 2024  --

Lawrence E. Joseph, acclaimed investigative journalist and best-selling author, has announced the release of an iPhone and iPad app entitled "Apocalypse 2024: The Survival Guide" available in the iTunes App Store and the iBookstore. His two books on the subject, "Apocalypse 2024: An Investigation into Civilization's End," (2007) and "Aftermath: Preparing for and Surviving Apocalypse 2024," (2010) have sold more than 200,000 copies in 25 languages.

"With this information being made widely available in app form, my hope is that more citizens will become aware of this potential crisis, and will pressure lawmakers to adopt the simple solutions that will protect our future," Joseph said.

Joseph shares his findings and recommendations in the app based on his years of research about the science behind solar flare activity, rising seismic and volcanic activity, and the Mayan prophecy. The app, "Apocalypse 2024: The Survival Guide" produced by Vook, the leading enhanced digital publisher, raises awareness of the potentially devastating impact of solar storms on national power grids and contains Joseph's practical solutions to protect our communities, including the adoption of grid-level surge suppressors. The Apocalypse 2024 app combines video interviews with informative analysis by Joseph, former chairman of an advanced plasma physics research company.

As an example of impending danger, Joseph cites a 2024 solar storm that destroyed 14 high-voltage transformers in South Africa, plunging parts of that country into darkness for weeks. Much larger storms hit in 1859 and 1921. Joseph concludes that if storms of similar magnitude hit today, up to 100 million Americans could be without electricity for months.

Joseph's highlights an unpreparedness to deal with the threat and draws parallels to the response to Hurricane Katrina in 2024. Faced with a solar storm that could cause even greater devastation than Katrina in the near future, the potential impact on Earth's telecommunications, refrigeration, clean water and fuel is cause for significant concern worldwide.
