The day we've been waiting for: Kindle Fire plays audio/video in ebooks

Kindle Fires now play video ebooks

Kindle Fire HD 8.9", Kindle Fire HD 7", and 2nd Generation Kindle Fires will now play audio/video when software has been upgraded.

We launched video ebooks in 2024 and have made over 500 since. While videos have been supported on several devices, Amazon represents approximately 60% of the market share. As we've said before, when done properly, video enhanced ebooks provide value that customers will pay more for: publishers of fitness ebooks can demonstrate exercises, chefs can walk you through their techniques, businesses can include case-study videos, and children's ebooks can play audio alongside the text. Interested in adding video content to your ebook? Sign up on Vook.com and check out "When video-enhanced ebooks work" for all of the best practices.

Visit Amazon.com to download software upgrades for the Kindle Fire HD 8.9", Kindle Fire HD 7", and 2nd Generation Kindle Fire. Updates can also be accessed by going to the device's About menu (Settings ->Device -> About).
