TEDxBoston
Innovation gets me giddy like a kid in a candy store. I am awed by people’s visions and their drive to execute on those visions. It is really no wonder that I work in/with social media — every day we revolutionize the way we communicate.
For years I have watched TED Talks and have never ceased to be humbled, amazed, inspired by what I see and hear. For those of you haven’t watched a TED Talk before, do yourself a favor and do that just as soon as you are done reading this post! TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is an invite only event that brings together speakers with “ideas worth spreading.” These ideas span all categories and industries, they come from individuals and teams and are all incredible.
In the spirit of TED, TEDx was created. TEDx is a local, self-organized event that aim to bring the essence of TED to cities around the world. And today, it has come to Boston and I have the pleasure of having been invited to attend! I cannot wait for a full day of jaw dropping ideas. How can I not be excited after reading this?!
What happens when a group of people rally around a radical idea and set in motion unlimited possibilities for a brighter future? A Revolution.
At the inaugural TEDxBoston event, you’ll be inspired by ideas that are shaping the future of industries as diverse as education, energy, and elder care. You’ll see provocative demos of prototypes that will change the way we commute, care for those in need, and clean the air. You’ll be amazed by products that diagnose diseases and pill caps that remind you when to take your meds. You’ll hear how reverse-mentorship and ArtScience culture labs are engaging the next generation of innovators who are reinventing how we work, eat, and have fun.
So, follow me on Twitter today as I share my experience of being there. And then check back here for a detailed recap of the day’s events!
