Using Microsoft Word and Vook to Create Gorgeous eBooks

by Jeffrey Yozwiak on

With a little bit of smart tagging, Microsoft Word can become a Vook pre-production powerhouse. To create eBooks quickly and easily, use Microsoft Word's Styles as you're preparing your manuscript.

  1. First, open the Styles Gallery. Usually, it's in the Microsoft Word "ribbon" at the top of your page. You can also open a small Styles toolbox by going to View > Styles.

  1. Then, apply the Title style to your chapter titles. To apply a style, just place your cursor inside the text and click the Style name.

We highly recommend using the Title style. Your chapters will become separate sections which you can easily reorder or rename.

  1. Finally, apply the Heading styles to the titles of your subsections. They'll become Headers in Vook.

While they won't retain their all of their formatting, you can easily drop in a stylesheet template or use the Style editor to customize them to your heart's content.

And that's it! Microsoft Word and Vook go together like peanut butter and jelly.
