As more and more retailers jump on the video-enhanced e-reading bandwagon, we've updated our chart on which devices will play audio/video embedded within ebooks. Click the image below to zoom.
So what to do when your ebook has video that will not play on a Kindle? The best thing you can do for your readers is to make sure the text stands strong on its own (HISTORY'S video-enhanced ebook series, America: The Story of Us, is a perfect example). When videos are essential, we recommend including links to view the content on a website or youtube channel. Finally, make it easy for your readers to access the videos. This ebook's Amazon page cleverly indicates how videos can be played outside of the ebook.
